Helloooo ya'll my name is Breezy. I was wondering if any of you were 'certified teachers' are how you have developed your practice. I am really serious in becoming a dedicated teacher and was wondering if anybody knew of any work exchange centers or something of that nature. I am leaving college to fulfil my own practice, am going to do some traveling, and would like to find places to study. (possibly in temples, ashrams, etc) ANY INFORMATiON is APPRECIATED : ) lovin u

Tue, October 9, 2007 - 1:51 PMHi Breezy,
A good place to look for certified teachers is www.ashtanga.com. Click on Teacher Directory. There are only ten certfied teachers in the US (and two are in Hawaii) listed. There are many fine authorized teachers as well. I particularly like David Keil in Miami and Michael Hamilton (he's a traveling teacher). I have also studied with two certified teachers briefly, Tim Miller and Annie Pace, both great. If you want to go to the source, there's Mysore in India, where you can study with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (who isn't so much teaching these days as observing or so I've heard), his daughter, Saraswithi or his grandson, Sharath.
I wish you well,
David -
